Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a Document Preparation Service in Nevada?
A: In Nevada, a document preparation service (sometimes called a Legal Document Preparer) helps clients prepare court forms and other legal documents at their direction. We are registered under NRS 240A and authorized to prepare documents, file paperwork, and provide general information. We are not attorneys and cannot give legal advice or represent you in court.

Q: Why would I use a document preparation service instead of an attorney?
A: Many legal matters are paperwork-driven and can be handled by individuals themselves with the right forms and proper filing. Hiring an attorney is often unnecessary and expensive. We make the process easier by ensuring your documents are complete, accurate, and filed correctly at a fraction of the price.

Q: What types of cases or documents can The Brief Case LLC help me with?
A: We assist with a wide range of matters, including divorce, child custody, child support modifications, probate, guardianships, business formations, and estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. We also provide notary services. If you are not sure if we have what you need, call us at 702-666-9912.

Q: How is The Brief Case LLC different from doing it on my own?
A: While you can file documents on your own, many people find the process confusing, time-consuming, or intimidating. We streamline the process, save you time, and reduce the risk of costly mistakes or delays- all under your direction. We also prepare all documents in a manner that is consistent with leading professionals and not that of simple fill in the gap questionnaires.

Q: Who prepares the forms used by The Brief Case LLC?
A: Our template forms and processes were created by an Attorney. They are specifically designed for your local courts and procedures, giving you the confidence that your documents are built on professional legal standards.

Q: Do I give up control of my case by working with you?
A: No. You remain in full control of your case. We provide document support under your direction. You decide how to proceed, and we assist with the paperwork and filing requirements to make the process smoother. NO ONE CARES OR WANTS THE BEST FOR YOUR CASE AS MUCH AS YOU DO, and we know that, we are here for your vision.

Q: Are you lawyers?
A: No. The Brief Case LLC is not a law firm. While our founder holds a Juris Doctor degree and our processes were created by a licensed Nevada attorney, our company itself is a registered document preparation service under NRS 240A. If you need legal advice, we encourage you to consult with a licensed attorney.

Q: Is the information I share with The Brief Case LLC confidential like attorney-client privilege?
A: While we are not attorneys and the strict “attorney-client privilege” does not apply, we take confidentiality very seriously. All information you provide is kept private and secure, and we will never share your documents or personal details without your consent, except as required by law. Our role is to assist you under your direction, and maintaining your trust is our top priority.

Q: What happens if there’s a conflict of interest?
A: As a document preparation service, we will not prepare documents for both sides of the same case if they are in conflict. For example, if we prepare divorce paperwork for one spouse, we cannot also prepare documents for the other spouse in that case unless it is a joint petition. This helps protect fairness and ensures there is no conflict of interest. If a conflict arises, we will let you know immediately and may refer the other party to a different service provider.

Q: How much does it cost to work with you?
A: Prices vary depending on the type of service you need. We offer affordable flat-rate packages so you know your costs up front. Contact us for a quote specific to your case.

Q: How long does it take to prepare documents?
A: Most documents can be prepared quickly, often within a few business days after we receive your information. More complex matters, like probate or business formations, may take longer depending on court schedules or filing requirements.

Q: What if I already have an attorney?
A: If you are currently represented by an attorney, we cannot provide document preparation services for that matter. This is a restriction under Nevada law.
